Motivation

Motivation is a finite resource. Sometimes you have it, and sometimes you don’t. This is why we can’t depend on motivation to get us active, eating right, getting enough sleep and reducing our stress. These things take planning ahead, setting a reasonable goal, and sometimes pushing through a bad day. When you do feel motivated, it’s time to make plans for the days when motivation will escape you. Set out workout clothes and set your alarm the night before a workout. Meal plan, grocery shop and prep food when the urge hits you. That way, you will be set up for success even on a difficult day. And with the difficult days, be kind to yourself. It is okay to miss a workout, have a not so healthy meal, and miss a goal once in a while. Just make sure to get back up and moving as soon as you can.
